OLONANA TENTED CAMP – SITUATED NEAR THE FOOT OF THE OLOOLOLO ESCARPMENT

A perfect place to go on your honeymoon or anniversary. But let this not be a deterrent. Anyone can enjoy the uniqueness of the camp and the beauty of its surroundings. It is an experience not to be missed. Do not take our word for it but that of a very satisfied client.

“It was a wonderful safari and very memorable. From the friendly welcome at the “international” air strip courtesy of our driver/guide Joseph to the family like reception at our tented camp Olonana, built on the banks of the Mara river. Each morning your wake up call reaches you via the hippos, who are residents in the river.

Not to mention the game that we spotted each time Joseph took us on a game drive. It was incredible. From breakfast in the bush, to the spectacular and romantic sundowner – in the middle of no where, with Mara as your backdrop, the night sounds, your symphony and a fire for warmth and light. Our picnic lunch, on the last day, was at the edge of the Kenya/Tanzania border, with a pride of lions as our lunch dates in the distance.

The chefs at Olonana create a sumptuous meal no matter what time of day. If it were not for the allure of Mara and its surroundings, we would have spent our whole day perched on the Siria Escarpment overlooking the Mara River and adding the calories!

The staff at Olonana tented camp are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and ever ready to please. They do this with such ease you forget they are actually employees. Each guest is made to feel like they are the only ones who exist. Minnie, the Manager and her staff, go out of their way to spoil you, which they thoroughly did to the two of us. It was sad to leave them and the Mara on our third day.

Olonana was definitely NOT a home away from home, because home can not even feel this GOOD!!!”
